Frequently asked questions

What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Myofunctional therapy is a series of exercises for muscles of the tongue to help correct a reverse swallow, or Tongue Thrust swallowing pattern. This immature swallowing pattern results in misalignment of teeth, reversal of orthondontia, and later dental problems if not remediated.

What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a reading disorder that prevents children from learning to read, write, or spell in the usual way. According to the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), dyslexia occurs in 1 out of 5 school-age children. Dyslexia can be remediated using techniques known as the Orton-Gillingham method. Using systematic, individualized, and explicit teaching methods, children and adults with dyslexia can learn to read and spell.
